Proxy setting to access the electronic resources from off campus

         2.1 For iPad, iPhone and
               iPod Touch

         2.2 For Notebook

            - Internet Explorer on
              Windows

            - Firefox on Windows

            - Safari on MAC

            - Google Chrome on
              Windows

   3. Log-in to the Proxy Server

    Announcement:
    Please be informed that library users are not allowed to use robots or any other intelligent agents
to do systematic, bulk or automatic downloading from the library databases
as violation shall result in the AU Library being revoked its license to use the databases as member.
Such revocation will bring adverse effects to all users.
Any violation shall be processed according to AU Library regulations.


Proxy Server Configuration - Google Chrome on WINDOWS


• Follow these steps to configure your browser to use the Library Proxy Server.
• Your web browser must be set to accept all cookies.
• These instructions are for the lastest version of Chrome.

Step 1

Click the icon



Step 2

Click Settings to open the Settings dialog box.

Step 3

Click the icon



Step 4

Scroll down and click Advanced.



Step 5

Scroll down and click System.

Step 6

Click Open proxy settings button.



Step 7

Click the Connectionstab.



Step 8

Click on the LAN Settings button.

Step 9

Click Use automatic configuration script in the Automatic Configuration section of the dialog box.
Type this URL in the Address box : http://au.edu/proxy.pac
NOTE : Be sure to include “http://” , and do not insert any empty spaces before or after the URL.



Step 10

Click OK to save your LAN settings.

Step 11

Click OK to close the internet properties window.

Step 12

Visit library website at www.library.au.edu Searching from Electronic Resources. (The pop up must be allowed)



Step 13

Enter your "User Name" and "Password" field. (AU Account)



Step 14

Click Log In to proceed.

Step 15

When you have finished searching Library resources, be sure to go back to the LAN Settings window
and unchecked Use automatic configuration script and check Automatically detect settings.



Step 16

Click OK to close the internet properties window.
