“Candle Festival”
The exhibition takes place on
Date : July 1 - 31, 2008
Venue : At 1st Floor of The St. Gabriel’s Library (Hua Mak Campus)
During the annual, three-month Buddhist rain retreat, or Buddhists , starting in July, Buddhists usually
visit temples to offer to monks flowers, incense sticks, candles, bathing cloths, kerosene and other daily
necessities. Candles, in particular, are essential as a means of lighting during the rain retreat period to help
monks in times of study and meditation.
